Vegetarian Thanksgiving Contestant #2

We auditioned our 2nd contestant to be the centerpiece for our vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner. This one, pictured here is from Quorn.

As you can see pre-cooked appearance wise it's well... tubular. Sort of like a roll of deli lunch meat. You actually cook it in the wrapping that it comes in, not the plastic "display" stand part.  I think cooking it in the wrapping helps keep it moist.
This one was better than the first but I'm holding out hope that one of the last 2 we will be trying are better. Like the last time here are our ratings for this one:

Now for anyone who is worried that having a "roast" like this for Thanksgiving eliminates any possibility for those traditional holiday leftovers let me calm your fears. We had several slices leftover and on Saturday I made turkey salad sandwiches. They were delish made with vegenaise, chopped celery and scallions. Aaron had his as a wrap in a tortilla and mine was on toasted quinoa bread.

We have 2 more to try before deciding which one will actually grace our holiday table. With time running out before Thanksgiving we're taking one to our vegetarian cooking class on Monday for others to try. We'll post our review, pictures and announce the winner in our next post.
